15. What happens if engraved details need to change later? Answer: Laser engraving is permanent. If details change significantly, a new plate or bracelet may be needed. LIFEfolio digital profiles can be updated online at any time.

1. What is LIFEfolio? LIFEfolio is an optional online ID platform that links physical engraved accessories — bracelets, tags, and wallet cards — to a secure digital profile. A QR code or ID code on the product can open the profile the wearer has set up.
2. How does the digital profile work? When you register a LIFEfolio item, it generates a unique QR code and personal ID code. You set up your profile on our secure platform with the details you choose to include. Anyone with the code can view what you have made visible on your profile.
3. Can QR codes be scanned with a standard phone? Yes. A standard smartphone camera can scan the QR code, or the unique ID code can be entered on our website.
4. Can someone access a profile without scanning the QR code? Yes. Every LIFEfolio product includes both a QR code and a unique alphanumeric ID code. If scanning is not possible, the ID code can be entered on the website URL printed on the item.
5. How does LIFEfolio relate to MedAlert SA? LIFEfolio is our optional digital profile service. When a LIFEfolio QR code is scanned, the platform can send an SMS alert to designated emergency contacts that the profile was accessed.
6. Is LIFEfolio insurance or medical aid? No. LIFEfolio is not insurance or medical aid. It is an emergency information tool — it does not provide financial cover or medical treatment.
7. What information can I include in a profile? You choose what to include — common options are ICE contacts, allergy notes, and other identification details. You control what is visible on the public emergency screen.
8. Is profile data stored securely? Yes. Profiles are hosted on secure infrastructure with industry-standard encryption. You control visibility settings and can password-protect specific details.
9. Can I manage profiles for family members? Yes. LIFEfolio supports multiple profiles from one account — useful for children or elderly family members.
10. What if there is no internet connection? The digital profile requires internet access. Physical engraved details on the product itself remain readable without a connection.
11. Do I need to download an app? No. LIFEfolio works in a standard mobile web browser — no app download required.
12. Is the physical product waterproof and durable? Yes. Bracelets, tags, and cards are waterproof, sweatproof, and resistant to tarnish and fading.
13. Is there a subscription fee for the digital profile? Every LIFEfolio profile starts with a 30-day free trial. After the trial, choose from:
  • Basic: R19/month or R200/year
  • Essential: R49/month or R450/year
  • Family: R99/month or R899/year
All plans include QR access, AES 256-bit encryption, document storage, and support.
14. What if I don’t renew after the trial? The online profile is deactivated and the QR/ID code will no longer display the report. Engraved physical details remain on the product. You can reactivate at any time.
15. Can I update profile information later? Yes. Log in at any time to update contacts, notes, or other profile details. Changes apply instantly to linked QR/ID codes.
16. Is profile data private? Yes. Data is protected with AES 256-bit encryption. You control what is public on the emergency screen and can password-protect specific fields.
17. Can I link multiple family members to one account? Yes. The Family Plan lets you manage multiple profiles from one login.
18. What if I lose a LIFEfolio bracelet, card, or charm? Log into your dashboard and pause or deactivate that item’s link. Order a replacement and we can link the new QR/ID code to your existing profile.
